making friends is impossible
I’ve started a new school (a uk college) and generally everyone I’ve spoken to either has establish friendships or does not want to speak!!? I genuinely don’t know what to do I have no friends and I don’t know how to start making them. I’m convinced I’m gonna have to spend the whole 2 years alone!!
To people who’ve been in this situation, how’d it go?

For sure, joining clubs would get you new friends. What about volunteer work on campus? There has to be a need for volunteers. Do you ever study in the library? The library is a great place to get exposure to other students.

I wouldn’t say making friends is impossible. Difficult yes but that doesn’t mean impossible.
In the real world I never had any friends and lived a life where I was always by myself bc no one not even my own family accepts me. But I kept living my life and telling myself I’m gonna accept myself and always be my best friend. That way I don’t lose anything and am happy either way. If no one else wants to accept me and be friends with me then they lose bc that is their own loss.
My advice to you is to try living this way and at the same time keep talking to different types of people. All colleges are full of different types of people. Eventually someone will be friends with you.

I don't think making new friends is impossible, I just think it's a lot easier when we are kids, before we're taught to hate those that are different from us.
