@jesusredeemedme2425

I would agree as social media IMO often bought out the worst in people.

example: a co-worker recently told me his family took same  vacation every year and had a good time ... except.. one day every year a family member had all of family dress up and do hair and makeup to take "look at me and my great life" photos for social media posts....    social media fed into people selfish narcissistic behaviors...ruined real friendships with the one up game.

escalated a game between those who post fake life photos  ( some i feel is malicious) and others who feel like they are falling behind or why is our life not as great etc.

I  lost a life long friend who posted these IMO staged look at me photos and then found her world was house of cards... that fell  and shattered...

.she chose to block all and hid in shame even though the reason she had no idea her spouse was doing something shady in business........ when her world crashed ... real friends did not care about what she had but her as person ....social media mocked and were cruel.

i cannot imagine the mental toll social media has taken on so many.... this does not even take into consideration the scams/ the outright fake profiles trolling and the dark side of social media.

Deep thought:

Did depression soar as snail mail faded out? Did that lack of deep, periodic communication between people become a factor in the depression uptick?

@jesusredeemedme2425

that is a deep thought...deep periodic communication may be an improvement.

maybe the slower pace of communication where people have time to really reflect and have things to talk about... instant ability to text/ message etc people run out of things to say and maybe to fill silence say too much or say off the cuff items that cause issues being taken wrong.

Snail mail people use to get excited to open and read a well thought out letter as opposed to text filled with acronyms and emojis that some are not sure what they are suppose to me that people read in a glance and forget.

I agree... Instant posting makes emotional posting easier, which leads to anger and arguments. People don't stop to think anymore.

It has been estimated that before the Neolithic revolution, the amount of work involved in essential life tasks--hunting, foraging, making necessary items such as clothes, etc.--took up two to five hours per day on average. The rest was free time, for most people.

Settling in one place, & the emergence of agriculture, changed everything.

@jesusredeemedme2425

I had a super deep thought today.

Like, some of the most popular candy bars... Snickers, Milky Way, Reese's... They all have a big following.

...But what about Crunch bars?  I mean, they're ok.  Most of us kinda like them, right?   So, there's a consensus on that.  We might eat them, y'know, if they're around, up for grabs.  But have you ever met someone who's crazy about Crunch? 😳  I bet you haven't... What if they don't exist?

If you had to re-live your childhood, knowing what you already know, would you get along more with your family or less?

And also, would you try to skip grades in school, or try to stick it out so that you still meet people who you ended up close with?
