If you could rewrite a popular fairytale?
@Amanda84
hmmm maybe they would have dads….
Ooh good point.
@Amanda84
In all the fairy tales, the women are waiting for a man to marry them, or kiss them or reduce them! Portrayed as weak, needy, unable to decide their own destiny! I would rewrite them, where I would rescue myself, I would run the kingdom myself and any man would only get consideration on my say so 😁💕
@Amanda84 I'd also portray them with an actual waistline and hips and more cranky, less people pleasing 🤨
@ScrabbleBrain
Definitely not people pleasing 🤣
@Amanda84 In a constant state of pms/pmt 😆
@Amanda84
Perhaps not all the fairy-tales are being given enough attention?
Hansel and Gretel...it is Gretel who acts decisively, tricking the witch into the oven and freeing her brother.
The Snowqueen by Hans Christian Anderson...Gerda goes on a perilous quest to save Kai from his 'willing' enslavement by the Snowqueen.
Rumplestiltskin....the millers daughter outwits Rumplestiltskin and saves her firstborn from the fiendish fairy.
And for a more modern fairytale, Spirited Away... Chihiro "Sen" Ogino not only defeats and redeems the main villain but also saves her unwitting parents too.
Females have been saving the day for just as long as males.
@Amanda84
Agreed! I was actually looking for this comment😁👌
@Amanda84 I would rewrite Cinderella😁 I would just write the story backwards, then it's about a privileged lady being put in her place😁
I was just joking 😂😂😂😂 please don't throw things at me 💖
@Tinywhisper11
I'll try not to, no promises made 🤣
@Amanda84 😂😂😂😂
@tinywhisper11
Honestly, that's actually not a bad idea hahaha.
Plot twist 😜
@convivialAvocado1138 😂😂😂😂
@Amanda84 also there's one Disney film that's about a man who's wife was killed, then his disabled son kidnapped. And he has to travel half way across the world with his disabled friend to rescue his son😱 yep! Finding Nemo is a real horror😱😱 so I would not rewrite it but make sure it's certified as 18+
Tiny u crack me up
@Amanda84
OMG love this question.
Actually there's an entire Disney book series called twisted tales. I was just recently introduced to it myself!!! Love it
Basically, the premise of the series is, what if?
Like what if Cinderella didn't get a chance to try on that glass slipper again to prove who she was?
I can't take credit for what I'd change 😆
But it's a great one 😉
There's one on Beauty & the Beast too 🤯
The premise is what if Belle's mother was the one that cursed The Beast ??? And their family had bad blood...
Dun dun dunnn
But I'm still, on Cinderella right now. Love it!!!
@convivialAvocado1138
Appreciate you!
That's a really interesting concept regarding Cinderella! Some of our favourite fairy tales, were actually quite frightening 🤣
I have a book about Andersen’s Fairy Tales that I’ll be reading soon, so I’m eager to see how WEIRD the real stories are lol
@convivialAvocado1138

Tee hee hee
@tinywhisper11
You're giving me the giggles ð¤£
Lol
@convivialAvocado1138 😁😁😁😁😁😁
@Amanda84 I would go with a classic story like a brothers grim or Hans Christian Anderson, then I'd make it cyberpunk or steampunk. Like say it was Snow white and the seven dwarfs. I'd make the seven dwarf seven colossal steammechs, and Snow white a resistance fighter against a harsh and cruel queen, possibly set in 18 hundreds England. I'd add a love story, and an explosive ending. Maybe a major coup or upheaval of the queens reign. Then again this is just off the top of my head. I love inventing stories.
Please write this. We’re begging you. <3
@jesusredeemedme2425 Lol my backlog of stories to write is like miles long. I have like 500 stories to be written, I create ideas far faster than I can physically write, but fr you I'll consider it. :)
Awww thanks! Or just write a bunch of REALLY short stories as a compilation <3
@jesusredeemedme2425 Short stories are my specialty, I'll look into writing it. :)
No i mean like SHORT… Like 4-5 paragraphs. Hehe
@genericbeing
What a great imagination. I'd for sure read that 😁💜
@Amanda84 Thanks Amanada :) :)
@genericbeing Ooh I like this! I can’t remember the title but there was this one book where Cinderella was a cyborg and there was a coup but it was set in China. I only recall my friend telling me the plot so I’m not sure if it was one of her story ideas or an actual book or a fever dream... could be a movie though...
@azurePond Cool, that sounds pretty similar
