Laws for Everyone

@jesusredeemedme2425 I would totally stricten up the criminal laws because what's happening all around is ridiculous. We even talked with my bf about honestly bringing back medieval laws regarding crime wouldn't be so bad after an evidence based trial because clearly what we have now isn't working. And we are not even from high crime countries, but the justice system is a cesspool anyway. It would take exactly 2 people to get punished in a good old medieval law for at bare minimum 2/3 of a crime drop. Problem solved.

My law would be: All prospective parents must get a full genetic screening before they breed. That would go for everyone, without exception. They may not necessarily be allowed to have children, depending on what kind of results emerge.

The above mandate will doubtless sound offensive to quite a few people. But consider the discoveries that have been made since Watson & Crick first mapped the human genome, & what we stand to learn as modern genetics continues to advance...

We know that certain mental illnesses (particularly severe depression & certain psychoses) tend to skip generations & run in families. Ditto for alcoholism. We know that "antisocial" personality conditions, while they can manifest due to prolonged abuse &/or neglect, also often emerge very early in a person's life...particularly when signaled by inordinate fascination with fire, abuse of small animals & bedwetting beyond the normal age for it. (Those three traits are typical of quite a few serial k1llers) We also know that said conditions can & often do lead to manipulative & sadistic treatment of other people, & that those who engage in such conduct rarely ever learn not to do so. The foregoing are just a small sample of what human genetics has revealed to those who research it & those informed enough to pay attention. Given such immutable facts, one must ask: is it ethical to reproduce blindly? Also, is it ethical to reproduce if/when one knows one is a carrier of genes for deleterious &/or dangerous diseases and that there is a 50%+ chance that one's offspring will suffer from them for their entire lives?

No. Particularly if the answer to the latter two questions is "yes" then I would say it is quite unethical to breed. In such a case, would-be parents are taking chances of harming their progeny, &--depending on the possible condition(s)--possibly harming other innocent people by doing so.

Thus, a universal law such as what I stated above is necessary in order to lessen & prevent future pain & suffering.
