Playing outside
As a kid what did you like to do most when you played outside? It could be stuff you did on your own or with friends.
For me, it was playing outside with bamboo sticks or other things we would use as weapons, and making up RPG type games to play together.
I also liked going to the place we'd get the bamboo from, though it was admittedly dangerous. We'd have to go around steep ledges over a little marshy area, where there were a lot of huge orb weaver spiders, and someone had a bamboo garden on the other side, and there would always be fallen bamboo we could use. We would call going there equipment runs.
I also had a plastic sword with a handle that would come off that I could hold this little bottle, filled with juice or something, so I'd have a potion for when I took damage.
Playing outside, yay!!! My favorite thing ever.
As a kid, my parents bought and renovated an old falling-down log cabin. There were woods around the cabin and two little streams. I spend hours/days just wandering. There was another falling-down log cabin nearby and I would go in there and climb around. So really, lots of wandering, exploring, pretending that I was an explorer, catching frogs, toads, fish, lizards, and snakes. Lol, It's amazing that I survived childhood.
@DancingSongbird579 ohhhh! That sounds fun 😁 I wish I had a cabin in the woods ❤
My old best friend and I picked an edible plant and sucked/nibbled on it <3 We also said hi to the doggies in the yard a few doors down from her house :)
My other friends and I honestly just roughhoused or talked or played Pokémon outside. Or went swimming or watched our parents BBQ <3
All of that sounds really fun 😁 Pokemon! Uhh, how was the plant? 😅😂
I never got into playing it. It was a boy thing lol
It was sweet and good! I wanna try it again lol
Heheh, was it a clover? I used to eat those. 😂
I don’t think so lol
@jesusredeemedme2425 you ate a plant😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 sounds fun though ❤
@Torean your childhood sounds fun ❤❤
I can't answer this question.
Yes you can hehe… Tell us what your ideal childhood would have been like, in detail <3
@Torean
Yoooooo that's awesome! We have bamboo where I have been for the past 7 ish years and they are so much fun! Except for they slowly creep up like dude the bamboo (Forrest) expands sooooo fast!
Heheh, they really do. I've thought about trying to go back to see the one nearby, but the danger level has significantly increased, plus it's a no trespassing area I think.
@Torean
Oof! Probably not a good idea!?
We am lucky and unlucky to have one on either side of the property. It's great for privacy and gathering bamboo, but it is a pain to keep back! 🤣😭😶
Oooh, yeah, if it's that close, I could definitely see that 😅
@Torean
Lucky my dad has a tractor with a mower and if we catch em during growing season it isn't tooooo bad. ;(
@Torean Your childhood sounds incredible, Torean! I can totally relate to the bamboo stick and sword fights... my siblings and I used to stage full on "Gladiator" battles and even placed bets on who would win!
I was a very indoorsy kid but my siblings were all outdoorsy so I kind of tagged along. Mostly it was stupid challenges like climbing trees, bicycling downhill, riding horses, pulling pranks on each other, jumping off cliffs, climbing walls or leaping from one balcony to another.... basically, anything that could've easily ended with us de@d. We also used to have "epic battles" and fort sieges. We were all adrenaline junk!es (well....still are)
Oh lawd, yours sounds amazing too. I would have been way too chicken for the downhill bicycling. The balcony one sounds particularly awesome though. 😂
@Torean Thanks! If you were a chicken, we would've tied you to the bicycle and pushed you downhill… allegedly..maybe... 😏
Oh, the downhill cycling was epic.... I’ve got the scars to prove just how awesome it was.
And don’t even get me started on balcony jumping. Pure madness. We were basically training to be the next Batman (you know.. life goals..)
