T'orean was my grandpa's nickname, and since I was named after his real name (for some reason, because he was never really around for my dad) it was brought up that I was the next "T'orean."
Maybe he named you that hoping you would be different from your grandpa.

Maybe. My dad got weirdly traditional about family stuff, and my dad's real first name was a variation of T'orean. Anyway, they've pronounced it both like "tuh-orin" or "torin"
Only about one person calls me that 😅 and not all the time. People usually call me Thomas, or Tommy, or my other nickname Tomog (pronounced like "Tom-Ogg")
I pronounce it in my head as Tour-ee-in. Lol
