Help
Hi everyone,🌙
I’m currently working on a project focused on helping rural parents learn healthier parenting practices to reduce ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and increase PCEs (Positive Childhood Experiences).
To make community sessions more engaging and comfortable, we use interactive games and activities instead of only formal discussions. These activities help:
* parents and children bond better
* parents understand concepts through experience and discussion
* children feel more comfortable with the team
* build communication and trust within groups
Some examples of activities we already have are:
* story building circle, where each person adds one line to a story
* animal introduction game, where participants introduce themselves using their favourite animal sound
* emoji emotion activity, where participants pick an emoji matching their feelings and explain why
* perspective drawing activity, where parent and child complete different halves of the same drawing to understand differences in viewpoints
* gratitude cards and appreciation activities
We are currently developing a new module and need more simple, interactive, low-material games/activities similar to these, especially for:
* parent-child bonding
* emotional expression
* communication
* teamwork
* helping parents understand concepts through activities rather than lectures
Would really appreciate any ideas or suggestions.

This is such a great idea and I do hope there’s lots of support along the way. 💖
I’d like to suggest one- it’s like an impromptu speech/ share activity, where basically whoever’s participating gets to speak/ share whatever they are thinking about/ feeling in that very moment or anything on their mind. Basically where people don’t have to think about thinking or before speaking, no need to polish our thoughts or articulate in a certain way, say whatever however, gibberish even haha.
I feel it’s a nice way to “get it out of the system”.
Just while typing this out, another idea popped up xD
Sooo since this is about parent-child relationship, maybe this same activity can be tailored to this dynamic by passing on the mic (not literally ofcourse xD ) to the child to speak however whatever about their parent(s) they want to at the moment, and then same for the parent.
Kinda like a way to get to know how one’s feeling at the moment and since there’s no time before thinking or polishing thoughts, it could be more honest and vulnerable.
Loving the ideas here so far. Good wishes to youuu!
