I would rather be very proficient in several that are potentially meaningful to many.

Would you rather be paralyzed from the waist down or never be able to verbally express what you want to say.

Never be able to verbally express myself - I'm a pretty quiet person anyway so I doubt that'd effect me too much, besides there are other ways to express yourself. And I like walks!
