The thing is that it is hard to function as a normal person—whatever that means—when you’re aware that your mind is wired differently. The harder thing is to accept that. It is incredibly hard to accept that yea, I cannot accomplish things like other people do.

Not because I’m incapable nor am I limited. The fact is I can do it, we can do it. Except of course the paths we walk to our goals differ. Consistency is key but sometimes I wanna bury underneath my blankets and rot away. I can do it but some days I just can’t.

It is not to be understood that our anxiety or our depression rules our life. The first step to achieving anything for people like us I believe js to let go of constant reasonings. It is to tackle the thought ‘I have depression, I cannot do it’ with ‘I have depression, I will do it’.

We start despite it all. We continue. We rest. We continue again. We lose. And yes, we win. We will win.

@DazeyDaisy You seem to be experiencing difficult feelings related to managing your mental health while trying to live a normal life. Accepting that you may need to take different paths than others can feel challenging. What thoughts come up for you as you consider accepting this reality?

@ASilentObserver well not many, to be honest. This is rather embarrassing. I got to discover the different path I’ll have to take after much trial and error. When I figured it out, I’ve been trying to not force myself through it. Rather than trudging through with guilt and shame, I’ve been trying to ease myself into things I don’t wanna do but I have to do. Fluorescent sticky notes may sound sllly but it’s a start with trying to accommodate my mind rather than working against it.

@DazeyDaisy It sounds like you're experiencing some difficult feelings as you adjust to this new way of living. Acceptance can be challenging, and it's okay to take your time figuring things out. Using fluorescent sticky notes is a thoughtful approach to easing into this new rhythm. How has your self-care been during this transition?
