About to flee my home

Basically my roommate has gotten rather hostile as of late and uses her boyfriend to sort of do this tag team aggression via text lately. They apparently can’t seem to do face-to face discussion for some reason.( I did try to ask and they both sent a barrage of texts that made bo sense so i stopped responding). Things aren’t the best and I don’t have that much money but a couple of days i go i made plans to finally leave this toxic environment. Book a uhaul and a free one month storage unit (yay!) and i walso went on a social services calling spree. Like no joke i have 3 pages of numbers. I called almost every state and city resource i could find. Was gonna do some lacking but the stress from all this has got me sick. I guess what i’m trying to say is that, although i have a plan and have some backup resources i’m still scared i’m going to be on the street. I can’t help but envision the worst outcome and i’m a chronic worrier (diagnosed with depression and anxiety so this ordeal has been absolutely great for my mental health lol). I just want to be okay. And i feel rather unconfident that i’ll make it okay. This wouldn’t be the only tough time i’ve gone through but still. I never know how to quite handle these things on my own(i have but i feel like i fly by the seat of my pants). What should i say or think to myself to make me believe i can get through this crisis? I keep having visions of me sitting in the middle of downtown at 3 am with my backpack not knowing where to go. If anybody has some positive words that would be nice.

@Planisphere102 A place to stay might be the priority before a uHaul rental. Are you sure you can’t stay put until you have a more stable plan? I totally get the impulse to flee though.

I have been having the impulse to leave for months now. Things aren’t getting better and she sent me an email with some bs roommate agreement that she wanted me to sign while insulting me in the email. I’m tired of giving into people. The last time i did that i ended up in a mental hospital because i ignored my feelings about a situation that wasn’t good in the first place. I know it’s not the best on paper but i have some options that i didnt think about earlier. I collected a ton of city social resources and i had a plan to stay with a friend but didnt go through with it the first time cuz i thought i could handle things (….that was my first mistake…). I gotta go. Idk how but i gotta go. Besides that chick has been yelling and throwing objects at her own boyfriend the past couple of weeks….that i think is some part of the motivation in me leaving. I don’t trust explosive people like that. They got into some argument and she started screaming and threw something down the stairs and it hit the washer machine. I didnt check to see what it was bc i was scared so i just locked my door. She likes to throw things a lot. It got so bad once that i had almost called the bc of the noise. I can’t take it anymore. This is not a home anymore. This whole thing is too toxic. I want out.

@Planisphere102 I don’t doubt that it’s a toxic environment. I hope you’re able to find some place much better. Stay safe and keep us posted.

It’s gonna be ok, you have plenty of resources at your hand and i believe in ya. Life’s hard, and sometimes your not ok. But that’s alright, life’s gonna keep going and you gotta keep moving. You’ll figure it out I know you will, be safe out there

@Planisphere102

First of all, I want to commend you for taking proactive steps to improve your situation. Booking a U-Haul and securing a storage unit, as well as reaching out to social services, are important steps towards finding a safer and healthier living environment. You've shown resilience and determination in the face of adversity, and that's something to be proud of. It's totally normal to have worries and doubts, but try to remind yourself of your past experiences and how you've managed to handle tough times before. You've faced challenges in the past and found a way through them, and you can do it again.

In moments of uncertainty, it can be helpful to focus on the things you do have control over. Take it one step at a time, focusing on the immediate actions you can take to improve your situation. Even though it may feel overwhelming at times, try to stay focused on the positive steps you're taking towards a better future.
