Anxiety with money

I work two jobs and I love my first job because it pays well but it’s very mentally draining so I’ve just signed a part time contract at another job that pays less but is good for my mental health. I now work 50/50 between both jobs and I work 6 days a week with both jobs being closed on sundays.

I am having doubts about working at my second job because it pays less, even tho it’s a well needed mental health break as I was getting burnt out working every day at my first job. But I was making more money working at my first job every day.

My partner has just asked me to take a trip with him as his grandma is unwell and I haven’t had a chance to meet her yet. She has just come out of the hospital and it is very important to him. Of course I said yes but I’ve just found out I need to replace parts in my car, which is going to cost me $1000. I can’t afford either of these things anymore and I don’t know what to do.

Hello,

It’s great that you’ve taken the initiative to look after your mental health! Burn out is very real and take its toll on you. So, I totally support you on your decision to take the second job even though it pays less. I feel in the long run, you will see the positive effects it has on your mental health! 💛💫

@erikah116762 Maybe talk with your partner, and let them know, that you would love to go and visit there grandma, but you just learned you have to put some money into your car, and you took a job, that pays less, but is better for your mental health, so you cannot afford to go on this trip right now. See what they say.

Maybe, your partner could help you pay for your trip and your car repair, or maybe just the trip, if they cannot pay for both. Just a thought.

I hope this helps.
