Anyone have any advice on staying asleep at night?
I’ve been having trouble sleeping through the night lately. I will go to sleep fine, but then I’ll keep waking up and then not be able to fall asleep again. It’s probably because of my anxiety, which makes me flinch from any noise that is made during the night. I don’t know what to do anymore…
Hi @srios1 ✨
Thanks for sharing - have you tried a herbal tea before sleeping?
If you suddenly wake up, try to focus on your breathing, long inhale and longer exhales…make sure that you are really comfortable and notice every single part of your body that is touching the bed…stay with that sensation
You can also download a meditation app - I love insight timer: there are many guided meditations to go back to sleep or music, binaural beats, relaxing ones…
Sending positive thoughts ✨

So I’ve struggled with insomnia my whole life. whenever I wake from 2-4 am and cant get back to sleep, I either play Minecraft on my relic nintendo ds, or I play escape room mobile games. Theres one called 50 tiny room escape. It first distracts me from my doom thoughts, and then lulls me back to sleep because my brain gets lazy and doesnt want to solve any more puzzles. I hope this helps 😭
Look up CBTI - Cognitive behavioral therapy for Insomnia. If you already recognized that anxiety might be an issue, then try to work on that. What sometimes works for me are cold showers, they really snap you out of any worry.
Not sure it'll help if noises keep you awake but there's a podcast called "Nothing much happens" - it's a lady with an incredibly calming voice telling stories where literally nothing happens so you don't have to concentrate, she repeats it a few times but if it does put you to sleep and you wake up, maybe just hearing the same soothing thing you fell asleep to might help put you back under?
@srios1, try blinking your eyes rapidly for a minute and doing some light stretches before sleep. It works. I used to have insomnia. And if you find yourself thinking some blah blah more than 15 minutes, get up, do something extremely boring, or sit still for a while till you get fed up, and go to sleep. This way, you tell your brain that your bed is not the place to think about stuff.
