Massive relationship anxiety and past trauma from abusive relationship that spanned 17 years.
need some reassurance that my past is over and not impacting my current life.
I am hugely worried my current partner is cheating. Heaps of signs but no proof… intrusive thoughts are killing me.
getting desperate. Would love someone to talk to or check in with to bounce things off and calm down my intrusive thoughts.
i have a therapy session once a week but there is a lot that goes through my head between sessions and I struggle between visits.
@HollyJade14 cheating "signs" such as?...
I would tell you to send me a note but unless you're a Listener, you can't do that. So the discussion has to be in a comment thread. Doesn't have to be this one...if you want some privacy, we can start a thread in the Pen Pals forum & you can tell me what's on your mind. I don't get here every day but I do log in a few times per week; your questions won't stay up for too long without my giving an answer (or at least an opinion).
Thanks so much for your response. It sounds like you understand! I am so grateful!
signs like hiding his phone when he didn’t previously. Dressing and cutting hair different, staying out late, sleepovers at mates houses, secret locked messages, lies about going out and said he was working. He had excuses for all of it which could be true… I can’t tell if I’m reading in to it all too much because I have so much fear and doubt and broken trust from my past or if they are genuine concerns and I should be worried… so badly need some help.
Super super new… not sure how to do the pen pal things?
@HollyJade14 Pen Pals is a different forum here but don't worry about it. I hate to tell you this but as a man, it sounds fairly obvious to me... The sudden changes in phone habits & lying about his whereabouts are red flags, for sure. He's probably romping in someone else's flower garden on the regular.
What to do about it is up to you...you can gather evidence & confront him with it, or you can track his phone (there are a few ways to do that), or you can just cut him loose & move on. The worst option, of course, is to do nothing & let it continue.
