Follow up to Bringing Others Down
Spouse abandonment, bankruptcy, broke, truck breakdown on interstate with Doberman. Breakdown en route to my birthday dinner. All along wishing we could reconcile.
This was a lot and two days after my birthday I was at rock bottom. Parts were back ordered for my truck. No parts locally either. I’m 800 miles from home in my future town with my son, daughter and grandchildren living in a travel trailer.
RV life is predominantly a middle aged to elderly endeavor where the couple works like a well oiled machine. That was my wife and I.
On this given morning I was at rock bottom. I needed a break but it wasn’t coming. I decided to rent a car but I couldn’t rent with a debit card. This is when I decided to reach out.
Out of respect for our privacy I stayed off FB and so did my wife. I have a no contact order. But I reached out in faith and did a brief prayer request on FB. That really was symbolic of me giving in and showing vulnerability. It was also a risk that my Wife might take it the wrong way. I had no anger at her whatsoever for the breakdown. You see she didn’t approve of a truck replacement. But that doesn’t matter it is in the past. New trucks breakdown too. I let it be.
Two hours after that prayer request I got a call from the dealership that they have the part and the truck will be ready today. Two days passed before the prayer request, two hours after the request my life changed dramatically. I’m religious but I’m not pushing that here. My point is don’t be afraid to admit to yourself that you need help and reach out to your higher power, friends, therapists, or all of the above.
You don’t have to fight your fight alone. I was very alone, stranded, broke, and very sad and lonely. I asked for help from my FB friends and the Lord. God responded in great fashion.
That’s not all. I received a post on my feed that read:
The truth is, l'll always love you. No matter what happens, I will never hate you. You could break me into a million pieces, and I'd still love you. You hold a part of my heart that no one else could ever take. My love for you is unconditional, and it will always remain, no matter what.
I told that very thing in slightly different words to family when my wife left me. Then it appears after my prayer request was answered.
I never felt so blessed in all my life. Only my truck was fixed, everything else was rubble but I still was Overwhelmed with faith and positive energy.
Ask your people for help when you need it.

I am very happy to hear that your prayers have been answered, you feel blessed despite everything and you have recieved the Help that you need. Indeed prayer can do wonders and God has helped us through many a difficult situation. I guess some of us feel afraid of pushing our beliefs onto others but its good that you can give such examples from your own life. Life has ups and downs and I think sometimes the down times help us to unite - with God and with others... We might feel alone and abandoned but that is only a sign we might need to reach out and it is a time ask and others and God for support. All the best to you!
