Clearing homes and life
Im clearing old cupboards in the storage.
Stuff has been lying around for years.
A lot of clothes.
Bringing back memories. Of the times they were worn. How they made you feel.
And I know I'm not going to wear them again- the mood is gone- its time to say goodbye but they are still special.
Im just thinking from all this... whats life? What do we truly own? Definitely not the stuff we have... we are going to leave it behind. Definitely not our bodies. We are going to leave it on this earth too.
Only our impact will stay. The people whose lives and hearts we touched. Thats our remains ...
It's true what they say.. cleaning up your surroundings has a very soulful effect on you. Its like clearing the energy around you.... connecting to the essence of life
Relatable?

For me, as a lifelong book worm, the matter has been always difficult. I used to gather books or magazines concerning my hobbies, some of them being quite rare now, some outdated.
On one hand they give us the meaning of "where do I come from", they bring our legacy: the people we met, the big events of the past. Still, on the other hand, recently I was forced to sell or give out some of my old things and every time I do it, it makes me feel... lighter.

Im still clearing old stuff.
Lots of old diaries and documents and receipts- and it made me a bit sad.
Sure the diaries reflect my lifelong catharsis ... which I'm sure would have translated to growth.. even if its not tangible..... but it also seems futile... like what am I contributing to the world? Nothing. I felt a little soul stifling.... and I kind of felt maybe for future I need to be more of a doer ....
The paperwork again brought back memories.. of dreams fulfilled and failed... of good and hard days.... yet it brought back in the same point... its all been a pursuit for my self.... what have I done for others? Not much....
Since I started this thread earlier and you responded, I decided to continue my story to you, lol. Thanks for listening 🙂

Seems like growth and awareness are joined at the hip with sadness and nostalgia...
I've got close to 900 pages of my diaries from long ago. All of them handwritten. I thought about editing them and making them a novel. I guess the story of my life would be enough for a bittersweet childhood/romantic movie script. But as far as I know myself, it never happens 😉
I still keep some postcards or letters from people I haven't seen for decades. Yes, it seems a kind of a pack rat I am 😉
