Hey guy!

I hope you’re all doing great! A few weeks ago I started a mentorship program. I meet my mentor once a week, but honestly, we don’t have much to talk about. I feel a bit bad because he’s 74, rides his bike to see me, and volunteers his time to help me.

I’d really appreciate any ideas for things we could discuss or fun activities we could do together!

Hiya @iixic what’s the mentorship program about/ related to? Maybe yall can start to chat about that?

Or if it’s a particular topic, I’d also like to know what brought the other person’s interest in it, what experiences lead them to feel or think a certain way about themself, life etc!
Initially talking to someone can feel a little nerve-wracking and overwhelming when we aren’t sure what to talk about, but I think when a few similar interests are established, the flow can start to feel smoother!
As for activities, maybe ask them what they’d like to do or feel comfortable trying?
Let us know how it goes! :)

Hi. I am a practicing mentor, I have taken a few courses on this mentorship. Its important to keep in mind that a mentor os meant to ask you questions, and dig deeper. If this is not what's happening then its best that its free. Some times we are afraid to ask the questions but a mentors job is to do exactly that
