Disassociation, let's talk.
So, that horrible feeling that comes and goes making you feel like you're outside of yourself. On the outside looking in. Or trapped inside yourself, floating away. A feeling of dread, like you're about to die.
I've talked with my therapist/phsyciatrist about this and seemed to be making progress. After trying anxiety meds to help with getting to a dr appointment, I've felt these disassociation feelings more and more intensely. Idk if it was the stress of getting to that appointment. I'd avoided it for months and barely left home. Let alone the anxiety med was making me horribly nasueas and this week I'm being treated for an ear infection I may have been getting at the time this appointment and stress was taking place.
I just want to vent... I really don't want to feel these types of things. I just was to feel firm, grounded, solid in my skin so I can go out into the world and thrive for me & my family.
Meeting my phsyciatrist via phone again next week to talk avoid other med options. I just want this to stop happening. I could manage anxiety better without it.
Does anyone have any tips on something that really helps with this, for you?
I know & do grounding techniques, breathing techniques, try to get enough sleep.
The pressure in my head from the sinus/ear pain mixed with this has just made me feel beyond yuck.

I'm sorry to hear that you've been experiencing such intense feelings of dissociation and anxiety, and that the medication you tried seems to have made things worse. It's great that you're working with a therapist/psychiatrist to address these issues and that you have another appointment scheduled to discuss other options.
In addition to the grounding and breathing techniques you're already using, some people find it helpful to engage in activities that help them feel more present and connected to their body, such as yoga, meditation, or massage. It's also important to take care of your physical health, such as getting enough sleep, eating well, and staying hydrated.
Since you mentioned sinus/ear pain, it might be worth exploring whether there's a connection between your physical symptoms and your mental health. Stress and anxiety can often exacerbate physical symptoms, and treating the underlying condition may help reduce your overall stress levels.
Remember that healing is a journey, and it's okay to take it one step at a time. I hope that you start to feel more grounded and solid in your skin soon.
