Feeling alone
Not sure it's a me problem or if many of us members are facing this, but I hardly connect to listeners by requesting them. Either they don't pick me or ghost me after a few moments. I tend to like having someone to chat to through the day, no fixed timings and no pressure. I also enjoy light hearted texting! If you are up for chatting and connecting over a long time then you can reply to this thread. Thank you!
No, I understand this. I just finished talking to someone and really all I got was “Yeah” “I get that”. I didn’t feel like it was helpful at all. I know they are therapist, but I can come up with some pretty good advice or just talk to someone.
@pip2106 that's terrible! I'm so sorry that happened. It's not emotional support to say that to someone, not truly :(
That's the way it's always been for me. It seems like they're improving the general request system (you can mark three topics instead of one) but it's still terrible at matching people, and listeners just don't seem like they give a crap about the DMs they get. I think part of it is not having enough qualified listeners
@SailorGreen I like that you highlight "qualified listeners", and thanks so much for understanding my feelings regarding this. I like that we can add a description too, I hope more listeners can be mindful when they take chats! I'm also really sorry that you had similar experiences. Sending you healing and love!

I looked for listeners a couple of times and found same basic thing was like taking to a parrot....
so i took to writing and talking on forums and then was contacted be a few listeners a couple Are really good and helpful
@toughTiger6481 I'm sorry to hear you felt like they were so robotic. That doesn't feel good when you're going through something! Same for me, as I am also too alone on top of going through things. Glad that you found some good ones though, forums can be really good for that sometimes 🙂
I've only tried talking to a listener once, but this happened, they ghosted me after I repsonded later instead of right away. And I haven't found the courage to try to talk to a listener since... Instead I made my own corner on the forum, where I basically talk to myself lol. But I'd like to chat with you if you want. :)

I feel you on that one and for me its far worse they are very judgmental and sometimes play on my fear. I told a man I had a man roommate and he said why you should have a female roommate because i would do intercourse to you and he should too but my roommate doesnt.I was just taking about the man roommate like he was a person.
@norahdavex that's so terrible. Just today I was speaking to a listener to talk about feeling depressed and they were was asking me what I do for a living and asking more about my issues, and then they went on to ask me how my periods are going (?) and if they are regular. When I didn't answer, they said they were leaving ☹️
