Feeling loss

It's a low night for me tonight (expected hormonal crash that's always worse at night, but still). I can't help feeling the profound loss of love in my life. My kids' great grandma passed earlier this year, luckily after seeing our son be born. Now no one checks in on them like she did. I'm not close with my own family (it's complicated) and my husband's family is small already. I don't have anyone to really share my motherhood with. Other than my husband's mom and brother, nearly no one else will be there with these memories. I feel like I'm not giving my kids that loving community around them. I don't have close friends, and since my issues with my family I can't even get more than a few sentences out of the relatives I still talk to. My friend of 15 years acts like I don't exist anymore and ignores the rare updates about my kids. No one is actively mean to me. They just... Don't care about me.

@artful5457

I'm so sorry for your loss 💛

I'm sorry you feel uncared for and invisible.

But please trust me when I say, your kids have you and your love and that's no small thing 💛

@Amanda84 Thank you for that. I just get like that sometimes but I really am very lucky despite it all. My kids are also both under 3 so it's easy to forget that they will grow more and become more active in each other's lives too and make friends, etc.

Hmm, that's a real thing you know, the feeling that you are alone and nobody really cares. And the part that you are concern about giving your children the best community they deserve.

Please take a deep breath and relax, it's going to be okay, enjoy every moment you have with your children and family, you are creating new memories, laugh more, spend time with them and let them know you care. It's going to be okay really.

@Kofolistens123 Thank you. I'm trying my best to savor everything I can with them. It does hurt that people who should be here aren't. But I can't do anything about that and need to dwell less on it. There are beautiful things to focus on

I am so sorry you’re feeling the weight of all of those. I know I might be too young to fully understand everything you're going through with motherhood and all these complex relationships.

Hormonal crashes are brutal on their own, and pairing that with missing the kids' great-grandma and feeling isolated sounds so heavy.

But please know you are NOT failing your kids. The love,safety and warmth you give them every single day is what shapes their world, not the size of the crowd around them.

Just want to let you know, staying by their side already means a lot.Hope you get better soon ❤️‍🩹

@ivoryPine3466 Thank you so much. You know, it actually helps to hear from someone younger in a way I didn't expect. It makes me think one day they will be your age and will hopefully be just fine.

All this can get so heavy, but my kids are okay. Their life is happy. My baby crawled today for the first time and we both got to see him do it. All these little moments and memories I get to cherish and share with them when they're old enough to remember.

Woo congrats on him crawling today! 🎉 All these moments you’re capturing right now will mean so much to them later. I’m so glad my message brought you a little comfort tonight. You are so brave for everything you do as a mother,take care and get some rest!
