Feeling unheard and invisible

I grew up feeling invisible and unheard. I wasn't allowed to express any negative emotions which led to loads of resentment and repressed anger. Now that I realized how much I wanted to express myself, how badly my inner child wanted to be heard, I can't stop but being very angry.  I am so mad at the fact that I was not even allowed to express anything apart from happiness! I had the right to. Now I have such a strong desire to be seen and appreciated and I want to work so hard just to receive someone's approval. I have such a big rage right now. When I was a child I was literally raising myself!!! It's not normal what I went through and I am still under trauma because I live in the same bad environment.  I have to get out of here as soon as I can. I just want to give to my inner child everything she lacked and I am in a constant rush to go and achieve all my goals and dreams. I can't even focus on the present and being happy. Life is so unfair. Some people don't even have to struggle with these thoughts. Yet here I am struggling to keep it all together. I wasn't even thought basic life skills by my parents!!!!! I had to learn and still have to, everything on my own! It's so unfair and upsetting.  I want someone to help me and be by my side. I am doen with society expecting us to move on like nothing happened.  I got traumatized in my childhood and now I need time to work it through and heal.

I have no idea what to do with this insatiable desire of proving myself and the desire of being seen and accepted.

I hate it. I hate everything at this point.

@schrodingerscattt I can understand why you would feel so angry about not having your feelings heard and validated as a child. It is difficult to have one's inner experience dismissed or ignored for so long. You mentioned focusing on goals and dreams - what kinds of things help you feel empowered in the present moment?
