Have you ever stayed in a relationship longer than you should have, what made it so hard to leave?

Was it love, fear, hope things would change, or something else? Looking back, what helped you finally make a decision (or what do you wish you had done differently)?

It was a mix of a little bit of everything. Toxic relationships are like that. They have a hold over you. But once you step your foot out of the cycle and stand your ground, it's over for the manipulator. Time shall heal everything. Sooner or later.

I agree! Once we're aware of what's keeping us in the loop, and what can help us detach, that awareness is powerful in itself.

So many reasons people stay beyond love/ hope or fear.   Many stay because children or sometimes finances or other items.

I have heard from more than a few people they wanted to be "right " and prove to friends or family that this person was " the one".
