Heart surgery plus LDR
Hello everyone. I am 30 year old male and I am in a long distance relationship with 25 year old female. We are going on almost 4 years and we are engaged however we are having such a difficult time especially lately bc I am having heart issues that lead to heart surgery and all these things are making me so depressed and angry at life that I unknowingly have been taking my anger out on her which I only know bc she out right told me. Shes always saying just be happy that you're alive, smile more, things like that and I know shes right but unfortunately I just can't. How can I cope with everything and just be more happy
@ivoryFarm1556 I'm so sorry for what you're going through. Sorry about your ❤️. I believe it's normal and understandable to feel depressed and angry at this time. With heart surgery in the future it makes sense. That's something serious and there will be recovery time. Perhaps with that and your partner being far away from you it adds to the emotions you're feeling. Still, it doesn't make it ok to take it out on here. I'm glad she felt safe enough with you to be open with you about your actions and I'm glad you're receptive to hearing it. This is a great thing! I don't know a way to just make yourself happy, but perhaps take a few moments out of your day to find something that genuinely makes you smile even a bit. Find something different, no matter how small, that can bring you joy or make you feel good for even a bit. I hope things get better for you. I hope your ❤️ will be ok. I hope your relationship brings you 2 closer together. I hope you find happiness and gratitude in your heart. Take care.

I truly appreciate your response. I will do my best to find those small things that bring me joy. I know in my brain this will pass but the overwhelming emotions constantly cloud my judgment
@ivoryFarm1556 No problem at all. Try is all you can do. Off to bed I go. Sweet dreams. 😴

Hello and welcome. Glad to have you here. It is nice to meet you. My name is Annie.
So sorry to hear that you are facing heart surgery. I believe that how you are feeling is quite normal under the circumstances. Now that your fiancé has talked with you about you taking your anger out on her, you will be more aware of what you say to her. We humans have a tendency to take out our anger on those we are closet with. Certainly, that is not an excuse. My husband had quadruple heart bypass surgery at the age of 71 which was five years ago. He is doing great and feels better than ever. You are a young man and I truly believe and pray that your surgery will be successful and that you will recover feeling much better. From what I understand it is very common for people who have experienced heart surgery may feel depressed before and after surgery. Allow yourself the time you need to heal and try your best to stay positive. You have your whole life to look forward to and a beautiful fiance to share your life with. Try to think of and do the things that bring your joy. You are fortunate that you are young and with today's medical technology you go through your surgery and recovery just fine. It is important to have a good support to help heart patients recover. Thank you for sharing with us. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
