Imagination
Hi,
It's me again. You might have read my other 'inspirational ' forums like 'The Day I lived ' and 'Someone I am'. Well today is kind of part 3 .
When I was young the world seemed like unicorns and rainbows all the time. My imagination went wild and crazy and often I would write stories about witches and princesses and cats. Because why not? I used to believe that fairies existed and this is a story. But it's not. But one day when my world turned upside down I realised I was living 'life'. Like glass I was shattered, my pieces scattered. Trying to convince myself it was a nightmare or a bad dream wasn't enough. I woke up screaming each night trying to save myself, I used to wish I wouldn't wake up the next morning, sometimes stare at a ceiling.
It's hard to live in a wreckless world, your emotions are held tight inside of you, your thoughts conquer your mind like an army, your family, your friends, yourself. It all becomes worthless because your tired of being invalidated and being useless and you don't want to talk to anyone anymore. Silents is painful sometimes. Once everything builds up, your container bursts. The things I used to enjoy are now .. over.
You see.. people don't last forever. People say things but often they don't mean it. People do things for you but often they want to do it against you. People can be nice but on the inside they can do anything horrible. The thorns that are stuck in our roots can sting others. That's why in this crazy world I don't trust anyone. Either everyone is stuck into social media or their own chaos. and I'm sorry if I fantasize so much about society today, but I'm just a person who is gone the next day. And the next day that person slips from your mind and it hurts when someone lets go. But I'm tired of lowering my self esteem to beg people to stay because you know what? It's not worth it. They can leave.
I was bullied at school. Often there was this name calling and shouting. I found it strange often, that people out of their own anger and insecurities would start beating others. Reality seems so unpredictable but inevitable. There are so many problems on the planet right now that if I count the number would be astronomical. The amount of biomes collapsing each day, habitats are destroyed, people go from having a home to becoming homeless, people fighting in this war, this blurry society is so stuck in this loophole and we spin and stretch in it so we can destroy each other. And in the end everyone talks about what's on the media and on the TV. That's all that people listen to. This is a crazy self hating cycle.
Living in an abusive home wasn't easy after all.
And you know what? Maybe there is good people in the world, but I can't sit here and watch humanity slowly collapse.
And we sit in it. And I'm tired of being silent. I'm exhausted of living in a world where people can't value love or kindness.
Tagging some people who followed my other threads recently (sorry if I missed anyone)

This was beautiful bunwee :’) and i honestly really relate with the… growing up part? The chapters in your early life are happy and dreamy.. and then.. one day you awaken and it’s all gone. and reality tears everything to pieces. The hopes. The dreams. The beauty of being a child… all gone.
(I’m sorry if that didn’t make any sense I don’t write very well right now hehe.)
What I’m trying to say is this was really beautiful and really resonated with me <3 *sends lots of love and hugs for bunwee*
@amiableBunny4016 I can't tell you how much I can relate to everything you've said here. It's really hard to trust people. To be vulnerable with them and share things that you've kept to yourself for so long. To trust them - something that was so hard to do in the first place but you took a chance. Sometimes you might say or do something semi-stupid and you have an argument - everything you told them - all your fears and weaknesses get used against you. They leave and you're left with the pieces. Now everyone is kept at a distance because - and you're left thinking never again
Hi! I might be a complete stranger to you but I want to tell you that you're very very brave to put your feelings out here.🌸
You might feel alone in this journey but see we're under the same sky! And I hope my love and prayers reach you through the air you're breathing
in.
You're right that a lot of people don't value love or
kindness but look at yourself! Shining right
through that darkness and being the person who
does value it. You deserved kindness and you still do. 💛✨
*Sending hugs*
I hope you get through this. 🩷
Sorry about the spaces. Happened after I posted ^

Philosopher moment number 999999999999 😭
Yep, there may be tonnes of problems which when you start counting, you wont finish lol. But hey, there always was evil and there always will be, atleast people are trying to make an effort to change it little by little. You spoke about war, theres no where near as many right now as there was a century back right, even if theres still war, theres less of it, and thats kinda progress.
And if you ever wanna count something, count the good things in this world, theres an astronomically high number of that too :D
Anywayssssss, i hope ur taking care bunny, *showers luv on bunny XD*
@amiablebunny4016 I know its cheesy, but I have two quotes to share with you:
"What is it that the child has to teach? The child naively believes that everything should be fair and everyone should be honest, that only good should prevail, that everybody should have what they want and there should be no pain or sadness. The child believes the world should be perfect and is outraged to discover it is not" - Rabbi Tzvi Freeman
"Westerners are fond of the saying 'life isn't fair'. Then, they end in a snide triumphant: 'so get used to it!' What a cruel, sadistic notion to revel in! What a terrible, patriarchal response to a child's budding sense of ethics. Announce to Iroquois, 'life isn't fair', and her response will be: 'Then make it fair!'" - Barbara Alice Mann
I'm sorry that you're "naive" (is it really naive?), hopeful view of the world has been crushed. I wish that when you had asked the adults around you "why are things the way they are?", rather than disregarding it they had turned to you and said "you're right, let's fix it". I wish you had never been forced to forfeit your youthful vision for the world. This sacrifice of youth, of innocence, of hopefulness, I believe, is what has led the world to be what it is today. It's what makes grumpy teachers, bitter doctors and indifferent politicians. Where they should strive to bring light to any situation, to improve the lives of others, instead they succumb to the grey bitterness that is giving up on the world and become grey and bitter themselves. And the job of bringing brightness to the world falls to the innocent, to the children. And they are only children, a flame can only burn for so long.
It feels inevitable that children will grow out of their brightness and become grey, but I hope that one day it is not. I hope that one day you can look at the world and say "this is good, this is right", not because you are unaffected, not because you do not care. I hope you can one day say that the world is fair and kind and right not because you are blind, but because you are not.
And you're right, why lower your self esteem to please others? Why please others at all if that is what it takes? You never have to grovel at the feet of someone else and beg for forgiveness as if they are a god, they are merely human. Flawed, and imperfect, and unkind, full of hatred and judgement. We are all human, we are all flawed, we are all unkind, even if we believe we are not. However, we are also incredibly loving beings, we often look upon the fallen with sympathy, because we were once them. We know they have the potential to turn their grief into hatred, into spitefullness. But we also know they can turn their grief into a new found sense of empathy, into kindness, into brightness. We all have the potential to be cruel, it's the choice we make that really matters. And someone who is unkind will not necessarily continue to be so. I have been unkind, I have been cruel. I like to think I've moved past that, that I treat everyone around me with love, for what are we if not the aftermath of grief for a childhood we never truly got to experience?
But I think it's that awareness that creates kindness: awareness that we are capable of unspeakable cruelty, but that we are also capable of unfathomable good.
I have worked as a carer for the better part of 3 years, at one of my old jobs I met a woman, worked as her colleague for about 2 months. She was beautiful, with kind eyes and gentle hands, she had a great sense of humour and seemed to have the best interests of the residents at heart. Until I saw her physically abuse an elderly woman under our care. Of course I reported her immediately and handed in my resignation the following day. But it was only after I witnessed such blatant cruelty towards someone else that I realised that everyone there had let their standards slip, that they weren't acting as kind as they thought they were, or as kind as I thought they were. It was then that I realised that everyone, me and you included, is capable of being cruel and cold and uncaring. It was then that I realised that acting with kindness was not the default, but a difficult and challenging decision that has to be made day after day. Being good can be difficult, it is a continuous fight against what is easy and convenient, but is it necessary and it is beautiful. Try to understand that the people around you may not have discovered this yet. And the best way to teach them is by treating them with kindness.
But treating others with kindness does not mean we have to degrade ourselves, it does not mean praising their every move or holding them above others. That is not kindness, that is worship. Kindness is understanding that human beings are messy, they are mean and spiteful and loving and good and bad and compassionate, it is understanding that even in our ugliest moments, every person deserves a gentle hand and a warm heart to welcome them. It is not disregarding their failures, or their past mistakes, it is seeing those dark parts of someone and saying "you are still worthy of love". And sometimes the person we struggle to say that to the most is ourselves, and often times that person is the one that needs it most.
This will sound strange, but you should try and find an online test to figure out your Enneagram personality. It will give you a number (I'm a type 9), there is an album by sleeping at last entitled "enneagram", each song correlates to one of the 9 personality types and was written to say what that type needed to hear. When I first did the test and got the result of 9 and then went to the album to listen to the song 'nine', it was the most understood I had felt in a long time.
