I need advice

Hello everyone!

I met someone in a game 5 years ago, both introverts and shy. Last Christmas he wanted to visit me and kind of rudley rejected him because I panicked. He mentioned a few times the desire to visit me or me going to him. The distance between cities is around 400 km, around 5 hours by train, as I don't own a car.

In short, he said that has lost interest with me so he won't talk with me anymore. He was the only one I talked to for years so it is lonely now.

I worked up the courage to visit him but I don't know if he'll want to see me now. Should I asked him? I don't know

If you don't ask him then will you be wondering what could have been?

On the other hand, is someone who has lost interest so quickly worth the effort?

Also, have you talked to him outside of the game which you met him in?

Hey thank you so much for sharing

First I want to validate the difficult feelings you had surrounding this, from rejecting him out of panic to building up the courage to see him now and wondering if he even wants to see you

There are a lot of variables in this so first and foremost I think you should do what you’re most comfortable with (and sometimes we only learn that by working backwards from what we’re most uncomfortable with)

If you feel you could not live with the “what if” of not going then that is important data to know when making your decision. It’s also important to ask yourself (and maybe him if you can) why he stopped talking to you when you rejected him. It could be that he was hurt or shocked by the rejection and was embarrassed and didn’t want to keep talking or it could be that he really did lose interest in you if you weren’t up for meeting (and if that’s the case then you deserve someone different and better suited for you)

If there is any way to contact him and have an honest, open and civilized discussion about why he stopped talking to you and how he would feel if you were now in a position to go then I hope you can have that!

If not, then you need to go by what is best for you. You may need to do it just so you can know more (or even get closure) and that is completely valid

I wish you all the Strength you need to work through this and luck and safety if you do travel to see him : )

Sending good vibes

I think it's time to let go and move on

You are ruminating and that is never productive

Hope my honesty doesn't upset you
