Is it so bad that I don't want anyone using my freaking bar soap!

June 17th, 2023

Okay... Angry rant incoming... See, I found out that is dad is using my bar soap. Again. Yes, again because this happened before no matter how many times I've told him to stop, he never did.

Told my mom bout it too, and ya know what she freaking said, it okay, he's your dad anyways, we're family and all that ***.

Okay.... I don't care who it is but no one, I mean no freaking one gets to use my personal stuff but me! Just ugh! I don't know how to talk with my parents.

They have absolutely zero respect for me or my boundaries and think that just because I'm their kid, it's okay share every freaking thing we use!

... I don't even know how to end this to a positive note. Sorry. I'm just so mad!

I am sorry your personal boundaries are not being respected by your parents. You deserve to be respected as your own person especially in areas of body autonomy, hygiene and privacy and such.

When people go to summer camps, live in college dorms or travel they use toiletry bags, or little totes, that allow then to neatly transport their hygiene and HBA items to and from the bathroom/ shower area.

Maybe something like that or a small basket would help you take back this one area of your life.

I also like my own soap to be left alone. I hate the idea of a piece of pubic or underarm hair being on my soap. But also I buy special soaps that appeal to me as an affordable luxury and dont want them left getting gooey in a puddle or water or something.

Take your power back,....and your soap.

How about keeping your soap in your own room? As long as it's in the bathroom, it's available to everyone.

It's not a question of boundaries here, but of you watching and using what you own. After all, you must also have used products your parents bought for themselves as well, I'm sure.

You could also be generous and feel good that your parents enjoy your soap as much as you do.

In the end, you first want to remove the problem with your PARENTS, so decide what happens to the soap bar based on that.

😀😉 BTW, what makes it so special to you?

The soap does not even have to be special. It is perfectly normal for a post pubescent child or adult to not want to share soap with their parents or others. Having your mom's or dad's armpits and pubic areas suds up by your bar of soap does not appeal, especially at that time of life.

Again, keep your personal hygiene items in your space and ots solved. If the come to your room to retrieve them then you have a serious violation of space and might consider next moves.

@purpleFig7203

Exactly my point! Thank you for your support, you get me. I really appreciate you 😊❤️

Unfortunately, I can't just hide my stuff. I don't have my own room, we live in a really small space so all our stuffs are crammed together. We each separate have soap cases though in the bathroom though so yeah, my parents just really have zero respect for my stuff.

Thanks again though.

Those bar soap travel cases would work well to keep your personal soap separated
