Pregnancy + Depression
Nearly 41 weeks pregnant and getting induced in about 32 hours. I never wanted an induction but I’m making no progress. The thought of being injected with drugs to synthetically deliver my baby makes me so depressed and scared and my husband doesn’t understand. These are the days I needed him the most and he’s been out working all day long leaving me all alone. He tried to encourage me but he is really bad at it and says all the wrong things. I feel so helpless and alone. I’ve been laying in bed all day feeling so overwhelmingly sad
Prayers are with you dear, I'm sorry you feel this way.
You're not alone and you're being a great mom but worring about your baby!!
Everything will turn out okay. 💚

@tilly11, sometimes, when we expect from people that they will care and stay, not because we are jealous but because we also do the same, we end up cutting ourselves up
But I would say one thing, my mom too had to live a night alone with me when I was just delivered. I know that pain. Loyalty is subjective. Maybe your husband is trying to understand but his mind isn't really there. It happens. I can't blame anyone. As a pregnant female into induced labour, it feels hurt I know to not have someone close by your side.
@tilly11 You’ve carried this pregnancy for 41 weeks, probably with the hope of going into labor naturally, and now you’re being told that your baby’s arrival will be initiated with drugs. That’s a loss of control, and it’s okay to grieve that. On top of it, you’re entering one of the most physically and emotionally intense moments of your life, and the one person you most want comfort from isn’t meeting you where you are emotionally. That can make you feel isolated in the middle of something that should be shared.
You don’t need to be “brave” in the movie sense right now. You only need to be present enough to get through the next moment, and then the next. And when you’re holding your baby, all of these hours will feel like they were leading to that one moment.
@tilly11 I'm really sorry you're going through this 🙁Please know that you're not alone, and you truly matter 🤍 I genuinely wish everything goes well 🍀 and things start to feel a little lighter 🤍 We're here with you 💝 Sending lots of love your way ❤️❤️
