Psychology job path
Guys i’ve been thinking of going into psychology for a while. Is there any psychology majors who have any advice and how does the job path look like?
@400arii
I hope you get the answers and help you need here, from other people working in the same area 🥰

@400arii Hey arii! I am a senior psychology major about to receive my bachelor's degree. Some advice I would give is to make friends with people in your major because you guys are going to need each other. Especially for statistics. I personally enjoy psychology and can say I learned so much about behavior and environment. I think it's a great field and I hope you enjoy it. There is so much you can do with psychology. I would recommend researching the different fields of psychology you might be interested in. For me, it's counseling psychology, but there are other types, such as forensic, developmental, sport, clinical, and many more. I you have a passion for helping others and learning how to adapt to a changing world, I recommend psychology for sure
How many years of study do you need. I was planning to go to a 4 year college. My dream school is UC Berkeley!
@400arii Hi Ari,
I’m currently a third-year Psychology student in the UK, and I’m also completing the 7 Cups internship. The journey really depends on which university you apply to and the country you’re studying in. In the UK, psychology degrees typically last 3–4 years, depending on whether you complete a foundation year or choose to do a placement year as part of your course.
Overall, my experience has been really positive. I’ve enjoyed learning about different areas of psychology and gaining practical experience alongside my studies.
If you’re interested in your dream school, like UC Berkeley, I’d definitely recommend reaching out to current or past students to ask about their experiences. It can also be helpful to contact members of staff- they’re usually happy to answer questions and give insight into the course and university life.
I hope that helps, and feel free to ask if you have any other questions! 😊
