Relationship feels wrong

Hello,

I am having issues and I just don't know what to do. I'm now divorced but was in an extremely abusive relationship from age 18 to about 31. Despite my hardships i graduated from nursing school and have had a successful career. I divorced him, moved out of state, and got with my current boyfriend.

Now this relationship is different but I feel like I'm not getting my needs met. He has depression, disability, and was also divorced due to his ex wife cheating. His ex wife has alienated him from his children and I feel like he has given up because of that. He does not have a job. He does get disability. He does not take care of himself very well. He doesn't help me out around the house very much. He does pay rent with his disability check. He shows me a lot of love and attention and we have fun together. But he has also done things like refuse sex with me (I'm good looking and good at sex) to watch porn behind my back, rage when I come to him with issues (he punched the wall recently and broke his hand), and just has overall lack of motivation. I have talked to him about these issues but since he broke his hand I just feel like I can't do this forever. I've been so loving and caring and giving to him and I feel like I have given so much but he can't or won't return what I have given.  We live together. He only makes $1800 a month in disability. He doesn't have a car. He has a bad back. I love and care about him but I feel like I deserve more than this. I don't know what to do.

@BlueEyedButterfly

i think from your post you know what you want to do and should let this relationship end.

There will not be any improvement and being nice and supportive IMO is just not enough to go the distance.  i know you may feel a bit guilty leaving him because he has limitations to what his future hold but that does not mean you have to limit yours.

+1 on toughTiger's advice. It's great that you love this guy & have sympathy for his issues, but if they are more than you can deal with in addition to your own recovery from your previous relationship (which should have first priority), then it doesn't help to stick around. It does not help him since you can't fix his problems & it sure as h*ll is not helping you.

Maybe you should consider flying solo for a bit. Take some time for yourself, & work on your own mental outlook...just a suggestion.
