Relationship struggle

I’m going through a really painful situation and I need some perspective.

I was in a relationship with someone I love very much. We care deeply about each other, but we come from different religions (I’m Muslim and he’s Christian) and we live in Egypt, where that makes things very complicated legally and socially.

Recently I travelled to the city he lives in because that’s where he works. He didn’t want to move to my city because everything for him is there. We tried to rent a place together there, but we got into serious trouble with the police because of our situation, and we were forced to leave.

After that, everything became much more stressful and scary for both of us.

I’ve been struggling a lot mentally since then and I ended up hurting myself. When he found out, he said he didn’t want to cause me more pain or problems and that there is no real solution for us, so he thinks we should stay away from each other. We had a very emotional call and ended up breaking up. We were both sad and neither of us wanted to hang up, but eventually we did.

Logically I understand why he thinks this way, but emotionally I feel like I can’t live without him. At the same time, I also know the relationship is extremely complicated.

@Soui19

I'm truly sorry you are both going through this pain 🧡

I understand why he has done what he has done.

It's not fair

And it will hurt.

But in time, once acceptance sets in, healing can hopefully begin 💙

@Soui19

I don't have the same problems in my country as you both are contending with and if he won't move , I don't see what else you could do 💙
