Seashell's Diary
I need a kind inner voice
I had an insight recently. I keep getting addicted and obsessed, straying from my self care activities is because I am not very kind to myself. I know it's been shared so many times, but this time I actually saw my thoughts- "Why am I in this mess? Why did everyone make me invisible? What's the point? I'm going to fail anyway. I don't deserve this. How will I ever be able to survive the world alone?"
But an inner voice recently told me, I need holistic care. It's difficult but if I talk to myself all day with an encouraging voice and a calm, gentle tone, I think it'll work this time. That's all it is, it's holistic care. If I think I need holistic care, then I don't feel so discouraged to work hard to be healthy.

Hi, Seashell! Thank you for sharing this! I think it's important to remember the concept of holistic self-care :)

PS: Let me know if you would rather that others don't post on the thread :)

I can relate to this, Sea! I usually consider myself as a dual personality and the other one is actually the sensible one who talks to me when things get tough.
For example, recently I was stuck in a situation and I was blaming myself for it to lengths. I took a walk and let the "Other one" talk to me, seeing where my fault actually was, the one who told me that it was okay. It's really okay and that all of this doesn't matter and I've got many important things in life. One failure, one shortcoming doesn't matter, doesn't collapse my whole world.
I hope you have such an experience yourself. It's one thing to talk to someone else and a completely different and beautiful one to be able to talk to yourself.
