Self Care
Hey guys! How's it going? Seeing lots of positive activity on the forums which is really good!
My question to you is: What is your go to "self care" activity?
Mine would have to be writing or making music.
Self care is really important on your road to recovery. It allows us that time to collect our thoughts and have a bit of downtime. You mustn't but too much pressure on yourself when getting better. Let time do its thing, but persevere. You have got this. :)
@OllieRNLI999 I like drawing and making stuff. And chatting on here. Sitting outside and listening to the birds.
@Tinywhisper11 That sounds great Lola!
@OllieRNLI999 ❤❤❤
i love to listen to my fave rock music on max volume (but i usually stop after a couple songs cause i'm scared of ear damage)
painting my nails and eating cookies also always makes me feel good
Don't be scared of hearing damage, I've been doing this for decades. Perfect hearing...except selective. 🤣 Rock on.
@Warpedme selective hearing haha!😂😂😂 I definetly have that same issue😂😂😂😂😂
@MymyForgotHerUsername 🤔🤔🤔 the loud music and hearing can be an issue🤔🤔🤔 maybe turn your songs up on full volume, then listen to them while standing down the street😁 there problem solved, your welcome ❤😁
I had a car that's stereo was so loud back when that was a thing (I'm old 🤣) that we did have to wear earplugs In if you sat in it with the volume up. It used to rattle the mirrors off the car. The stereo cost $6,000 back then. The car was worth about $900. 😂
@MymyForgotHerUsername,
I love rock music! I tend to listen to more alt/indie bands like Arctic Monkeys and Gorillaz. How about you??
@OllieRNLI999 I've been doing okay I guess
I think we can do better than just ok. What are your interests or something you really enjoy? I like to go for walks, listen to music, joke, and dance. There's so many amazing things in the world that can bring you from not ok to ok to fantastic. I promise. I used to be the most pessimist person. Hang in there, and if you ever want to chat, hit me up. 😊
@OllieRNLI999,
I love taking a warm bath. So relaxing!
I love baths with candles, music, and beautiful smelling bath bombs followed by my favorite Japanese cherry blossom lotion. It sets a very nice mood. 😊

my go to self care is to eat a snack that i like hehe. i’m not the type of person who eats lots of junk food, simply because i prioritize nutritious food in my daily diet, but when i do.. know that i am happy and i deserve a yummy treat!
I love this idea too. Peanut butter cups for breakfast anyone? 🤣

My self care activity is usually at night, in fact, I'd call it more of a self care routine: I take a nice lukewarm shower, get into a comfy outfit (either a onesie or sweatpants + hoodie) and crawl into bed. I then grab the plushie I've had since I was 4, snuggle up with it real tight and watch YouTube videos, under a nice, soft blanket until I peacefully fall asleep.
I don't really do any self-care during the day itself, though I probably should start implementing that too...
@OllieRNLI999 Listening to music and sitting in front of an air cooler vent ❄️
I like to dance when i feel low and do karaoke too. 💃🎤
@OllieRNLI999a long bath with some epsom salt

My self care activity is going on walks, unless it's cold or dark outside then I just walk on the treadmill! I also like to read books and listen to music as a self care activity :)
