Social battery
I went out yesterday, and towards the end of the hang out, I started to feel like my social battery was dying. It’s not a feeling I’m super familiar with, I used to be readily extroverted. I slept six hours, my body wouldn’t let me sleep any more than that, and now I feel terrible. I’m at an all day competition and rehearsal for school, and I can’t get a break. I’m with people, sitting with people, and have to be focused. I’m so tired, I just want to go home, but I have another seven hours to go. Anytime anyone talks to me, I feel overwhelmed and want to cry. I’ve managed to sneak away twice for a couple minutes, sitting by myself, but it hasn’t helped much. My friend is upset too, and my other friends caused it, and now I feel like I can’t struggle because I need to be there for her. I don’t know, I just want to go home and cry.
@littleStrawberries1840 that sounds like a very long day physically and mentally. No wonder your drained and feeling this way 🙁 I hope the rest of the day passes quickly and stress free for you 💗 gives you a giant tiny hug 💗 it will all be over soon 💗 oh and good luck with the competition and rehersal💖
Thank you so much! We won the competition:D
@littleStrawberries1840 woohooo! Congratulations🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈 that's awsome, and makes up for the very loooong day you had💖💖 I hope your home and relaxing now💖💖
You do not have to be there for your friend in this case, but you may want to, in the future, get her to another friend. Delegate out a little bit. Your friend will understand as you are super tired as well and upset. Sounds like you take your responsibilities seriously and you care for your friend!
It’s okay to be stressed about these things it’s happened and it just means ur mind and body hasn’t got enough energy for the day so don’t let anyone tell u different about being too dramatic etc if it becomes a thing where u need a break or the people around u keep pushing it just calmly explain that your really not in the mood today and need some time to urself.
Can i give you a hug? Hey youre not responsible for the happiness of the others', spend more time listening to yourself cuz it needs some more energy. Life is tough, but still try your best to balance it. It would take a lot of time and effort but this hard time will be end up soon, its temporary. Try setting ur goals and then building ur own plans to achieve them. Everything is in your court, its all up to you. Imagine how youll make a positive change after all? It would be a new self of yours, so keep fighting, theres so much things waiting for u ahead:D
I feel like this all the time, I am a female, smart, attractive, and have an very in depth perception of Complex PTSD. I am too damaged to date or be friends with normal people and too healed to be friends with the unaware. I constantly hold other emotions with me. It will affect those that haven’t learned to heal correctly, boundaries have a great deal to do with this. This is something that people who are codependent experience frequently. I don’t know if that is the case for you, but it is definitely the case for me and why I’m able to fill others emotions. I was not born codependent. I was raised codependent being raise. Codependent gives you the capability of feeling other people‘s emotions. It’s unfortunate for a child to build this, but it’s something that I have grown accustomed to as an adult, it is so hard to be able to pull yourself from feeling what other people feel and taking on the panic and anxiety that others do.
