Taking a break from it all

Is it even possible to take a break from a long relationship if you both live together?
Not a break up, just a break to breathe for a bit because everything is overwhelming and the partner isn't making it easier.
I just want to know if that's possible, especially if finding another place to stay is not an option for either one

If you have the space you can do the room mate thing. just speak if it is relevant to the home ... but otherwise catty on as separate lives... it would be more beneficial if you had someone to stay with for a week or two but the room mate thing acting as if you barely know each other can give both time to review what is going on
