Hi, teenies!

Did you know that sometimes profanity can be a good thing? At least when it comes to tolerating pain. In fact some studies have shown that using profanity can increase pain tolerance around 33%*! Maybe that’s why it’s so hard not to swear when we stub our toes?

Furthermore, in those same studies, they found that along with the increase in pain tolerance, people reported improved ratings for emotion, humor, and distraction compared to those who did not use profanity. With that in mind, we thought it might be a bit of fun to set aside a time to explore how the use of profanity impacts our mood here on 7 Cups.

That’s right, this Friday the 13th at 6pm ET, we’ll be holding a *** Special Event. It is however, important to note that there will be some ground rules.

‼️ Do not try to circumvent the censor! Instead we’ll put a whole lot of * sparkle into the group chat.
‼️ Do not direct profanity toward one another.

Look at this event as a chance to just get it out of your system and have some laughs. This can be an opportunity to explore this unusual coping strategy and have a bit of fun at the same time, and we’re hoping you’ll join us!
