 When I Grew Tired of Flowing: What Water and Ice Taught Me About Boundaries 💙 

I have always felt that I am like water in its flow ،I constantly try to be flexible, gently adapting to life's details and trying my best to accommodate those around me. But the problem with being like water is that I used to seep into everything and carry more than I could handle. I often found myself in places that didn't suit me at all, enduring situations that caused me a lot of pain and exhaustion, simply because I didn't know how to stop that continuous flow of empathy.

During this difficult period, I learned a deeply profound lesson about myself and my relationships. The truth is, I was never incapable of setting boundaries; I knew exactly where to stand and what my rights were. However, my excessive kindness and constant overlook gave the wrong impression to people around me, especially those closest to me, like some of my friends and relatives. They mistakenly thought that this gentleness meant I was easy to take advantage of, not realizing that I was only letting things slide out of pure love and a desire to keep the peace.

With repeated disappointments and the feeling of being emotionally drained, I felt a certain coldness creeping into my soul. It wasn't anger or malice toward others, but rather a natural process like warm water turning into solid ice because of the freezing environment. When water freezes, its automatic flowing and seeping through things stops. That is exactly what happened to me. That excessive kindness hardened into clear, solid boundaries that protect me from being taken advantage of, restoring the inner peace I had worn myself out trying to maintain.
