Things getting out of control

Hello!

Since last year my life has been a mess for different situations; a break up (fortunately though), moving back to my parent’s house, sickness, I had like 5 different jobs, my oldest cat’s health issues which led to the inevitable… and since then I’ve been a complete disaster.

I felt like I was handling it quite well but now everything feels so difficult, I don’t have energy to function properly, I feel emotionally drained. My meds are not enough either.

I started therapy again but I don’t think it’s enough since the local medical center can only offer me 2 sessions a month and my next appointment is in 2 weeks.

I don’t really know what I want or need by posting this, but if someone could help me managing or helping me with coping mechanisms to deal with what I feel , it’d be great.

Thank you for taking the time to read 🫶🏼

@Guatito

You have been through such a gauntlet this past year—the breakup, moving, the job stress, and then losing your cat on top of it all. Honestly, it’s no wonder you feel completely drained and out of control right now. You’ve been running on survival mode for so long that your mind and body are probably just hitting a wall.

Losing a senior pet is its own kind of heartbreak, and I’m so sorry you’re having to navigate that grief while everything else feels like a mess.

It’s also incredibly frustrating that you’re stuck waiting two weeks for therapy when things feel this heavy. It’s hard when the support systems we need can’t move as fast as the stress does.

Since things feel so overwhelming, please try to be as gentle with yourself as possible. When the "out of control" feeling hits, sometimes it helps to just ignore the big picture for a bit and focus on one tiny, low-energy thing. If all you can do is change your socks, or drink a glass of water, or step outside for two minutes of fresh air, that is a huge win.

If your brain starts spiraling before your next appointment, something that helps me is just naming a few things I can see, hear, or touch in the room right now to pull myself back into the moment. Or even just "brain dumping" everything into a notebook to get it out of your head and onto paper so it feels a little less loud.

7 cups is here for you, whether you want to vent about the medical system or just need a distraction.

Along with posting here in the forums, there are also groups you can join for in the minute support, like the Sharing Circles, and Support communities. Also, a Listener might be able to hear you out if you have a vent. There are many great Listeners here.

You don’t have to have it all figured out today.

Sending you a huge hug through the cyber space if you want one right now. 🫶🏼

I will be happy to help you if you are ready to talk about it. Just as you have the strength to share, which is a brave and remarkable step, you need to be ready to talk extensively about your situation and you need to know it takes an amount of commitment to actualize the transformation you need. You talked about your cat and how the health issue led to the worsening of the situation. What your oldest cat your support animal?

I’d really love to talk about everything! I

My cat was everything to me. I had him for 17 years and he was there for me when no one else was. Everything seems more to difficult to face without him.
