Uncomfortable feeling when their change in me
Earlier I used to listen and support other even if it brought me mental exhaustion.
First time I said someone no.
Told them I can't hear your intense story.
I am not professional.
I find difficult to detach and listen trauma event.
They understood.
This change is little making me feel little nervous little heavy.
As it like I disappoint someone.
Like I did same what other did.
But if I have not. She would have keep venting .. two month everyday I gave support that enough my capacity.

You can only give your best!
And that's what you did 💚
@Amanda84
Yes that I did. I observed that when I share her as a friend a little also she give practical advice and get offline.
But in her case she want I listen and listen.
If she ask question then it should be empathy with her one else she would get trigger and will share intense situation happened in her life. Indirectly saying you don't know how much I went through.

It sounds like you were really overextending yourself. I'm proud of you for recognizing that and holding your own boundaries even though it can be so difficult to do so. I was in the same situation a couple of years back and it was really hard to pull away from that relationship, but once I did, a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders. You did the right thing by taking care of yourself. Your wellbeing is just as important as theirs and you do deserve to give yourself that peace of mind.

You did the right thing, even if it's hard and you feel guilty about it. Giving more and more when your bucket is completely empty isn't fair to yourself or the other person. It can become one-sided and make it hard for you to take care of your own self when you're absorbing their stress. It also keeps you from being able to even help in ways that are in your paygrade by taking all your energy.
Having friends to lean on is important but the harsh truth is that there are some issues in this world that don't have solutions that a friend alone can "fix," and these things should be brought to a therapist or other trained mental health professional who has spent years researching and is paid to help you come up with coping skills.

I felt same. For everyday listener either emotional support app like this. Which i recommended her. Therapist are costly so never entertain my idea of taking professional help.
Only one thing little I felt hurt that she called me friend but it was not friend she was looking she just wanted me as listener. Bec the moment I created boundary she never intiate even after week hi hello or good morning. If we are friend thn little gesture we can always show time to time.
