What brings you out of a funk?

I don't know why I feel off today. I took time off work (it's been planned for a while--not abruptly) and I've been trying to do things that will boost my mood, but today I just don't feel right.

I'm going to come out of the funk sooner or later, I know. But in the meantime, let me know what brings you out of your own funks. We do have power to influence our moods, but sometimes we can forget what those things are when we're down.

@convivialStrawberries8026

I agree and what worked last time may NOT be they answer today.

I am looking for options too... did not feel like taking myself out for lunch etc sometimes that helps... I was going to go do shopping therapy but it only makes it worse if I buy things I do not really need or will be useful.

I called my best friend to find she was boarding a cruise today made it worse for me cause i never am that adventurous.   not sure what might help but i know i have to go back to work tomorrow and i do not want to.

@toughTiger6481 This is perhaps part of the problem! The things that work sometimes also very much do not work sometimes. I don't have to go back to work until Monday, which is good for me, but I'm sorry to hear you're struggling to find motivation to show up for work tomorrow yourself, and I hope it gets better for you soon.

Today, I tried taking myself window shopping, which sometimes worked but it definitely did not today.  But I'll keep trying things.

@convivialStrawberries8026 awww honey I'm so sorry your stuck in a funk 🙁 perhaps allowing yourself to just relax, or do little things that make you smile, like watching the sunrise 💖 and music helps to. it's ok to have bad days and on those days be kind to yourself, take a mental break, doing nothing is not a waste of time💖 gives you a giant tiny hug 💗💗 I hope you start feeling better soon 💗

@Tinywhisper11 Yeah, I think I need to stop pushing myself so hard. I still have tomorrow off work, and I'm probably not going to try to make it a "productive" day off in favor of a restful one. I think that's probably what's best for me right now.

@convivialStrawberries8026 When i'm alone listening to instrumental music or Jazz brings me peace when I'm not feeling well. Also meditating on things that make me happy. Or since I believe in God thinking of that. Or watching a funny video with cooking involved😄

@aquaMango5138 I like soft piano music for times like these, but I'd forgotten that. Thank you for the reminder.

@convivialStrawberries8026

Routine.

Music.

Laughter.

My faith.

Trying something new.

Spending time outdoors.

Not being too hard on myself, giving myself time and space to work things out and figure why I feel the way I do and what I need to change things.
