What's your equation with Red?

Red, as we know, is the color of love and passion. In some cultures, brides wear red on their wedding day. Pomegranate which is red in color is symbol of marriage and fertility.

But red also implies danger. The blood that is your life force - when it oozes out of your skin - can be the ultimate threat to our survival. We are frightened and alarmed by too much bleeding.

I love red but it comes with a timespan. I cant see too much of it. It begins to scare me. I think its the association with blood that takes over in my mind. Im the person who faints every time I go for lab tests. Im the person who feels really sad to see a blood filled napkin during menstruation.

I cant be in red space for too long. I need to mix in white and feel the beauty and comfort of pink which poses no fear. Or I could mix in blue and get a purplish hue which is so inspiring and calming.

In spite of my pull to and push from red, I cant overlook its significance. Its the color that gives you a reality check. Yes life is a gift of love and passion but death is a fact. We may not like to think of it all the time but its our deep knowing.
