i would like some advice on this:
basically i made a really huge mistake by calling someone getting severely bullied “drama” on my status. i have since then apologized for what i have said, but my ex-bsf put up an exposing book about me and saying that i’m “obsessive” for trying to apologize to her and her friend .
ive been really stressed & guilty about what i did to the point where i felt like throwing up and now i dont know what to do .
@bx3
Sometimes we make mistakes ..... but you cannot un-ring a bell ......
you have made some apology and perhaps deleted your post if possible but you cannot force another to either accept your apology or forgive......... move on ..............and take this as a valuable lesson in why social media has made it so easy to fall into this trap.
easier to not post then try to change the past
A lot of people just fall into the routine of just apologizing for an offense. Saying youre sorry doesn't mean much. You did the right thing in asking for forgiveness. Because that creates the appearance that you are truly remorseful and will make the best effort to never repeat those type words. Even if they refuse to forgive you, you, by asking forgiveness have automatically cleaned up your side of the street. Any animosity falls purely on the party who doesnt forgive. It's unfortunate and sad that people wont forgive. Jesus said because he forgave you (and all mankind) you must forgive others. Because you have been forgiven much by the only begotten Son, forgive those who hold on to that grudge. Anyway hope that helps
@bx3 I too have a made a huge mistake against 2 people that I love the most, amidst my ongoing crisis which I later have been able to reach out for help. One of them, who was my best friend, didn’t say anything and cut me off everywhere online, which I only found this out sometime after I was slightly recovered.
I admire what @DudeRidiculous has said, since I am now in the process of making amends through a letter as a way to set closure for myself, and to leave all of this behind me.
The act of the admitting one’s own mistake/ offense as well as asking for forgiveness is one of the biggest steps to growth as a human being. Whatever the other person/party decides how they feel about you after, it is on them. It’s understandable that you may feel a lot of pain and confusion. But it’s also part of a process.
You already became a bigger person than you were before by apologizing for that offense. I hope you’ll be able to heal yourself from it in time. We can choose to learn from our mistakes instead of dwelling on them. Take care of yourself.
