need guidance
My name is Jawad, I am 24 years old and from Pakistan. I have been struggling with depression since I was around 14 years old. My father passed away when I was only 11, and since then I have mostly lived with a feeling of loneliness. I completed my graduation during a very difficult time in life, without much emotional support from my family.
I genuinely want peace and stability in life, but unemployment and constant stress sometimes lead me towards suicidal thoughts. I feel mentally and emotionally trapped because in my culture, people see everything through a religious or judgmental lens, and there is very little space for personal freedom.
Sometimes I find myself emotionally or physically attracted to boys, but in my society this is considered extremely wrong, which creates even more pressure and mental burden on me. I am suffering from severe depression and I don’t know how to manage all of this. I really need kind and sincere guidance on what I can do to improve my mental and emotional well-being.

Hi Jawad. I'm Pakistani. I am religious but not in a judgmental or extreme way. I questioned ideas for a long time before choosing Islam.
I am critical of the Pakistani society as well - don't feel alone. No society is perfect. Ours has done too many blunders. Also, it's about finding the right crowd. People in Pakistan can be very compassionate as well.
Im extremely sorry about the loss of your father. Navigating your life without a guardians guidance is very challenging. You are making progress and you should pat yourself on the back for all youve achieved. Your yearning for peace and stability is a beautiful dream that can manifest itself. Don't give up.
Regarding sexuality, I agree it can be hard to filter through society's noise to find your own voice. Again, it's an area where you might want to slow down and take time processing your inner world and all the feedback you get.
Sending calm & strength your way 💛✨️

Well said,I feel as someone has been there for me of what you are telling him.Because i kind of feel that i am this person.I feel we all are connected and one only, and god lives in us and we are all one only.
Hyy, jawed I completely understand what you are trying to imply here, and being gay is not a problem. Well out society we can't do much about it, and there's a lot I can say but I would just want to tell you one thing that education and financial freedom is the key. I can never understand how much you have already been through but I assure you that study if you want to and if that not the case please get a job move out and then you can be with anyone you want no one's gonna judge. Life is beautiful. Trust me. You just have to makes the best out of it. Ik easier said than it's done. I can go on but I think I have made my point clear.

Start with self prioritization and yk thing is all these old taboos doesn't matter fo what makes y happy if y feel attracted to boys date them and make yourself happy no matter what society says and things do start small that's why I said start with self prioritization.. Start little be positive to yourself I'll advice you that your first initiation should be to be positive to yourself wherever you feel negative

@jawad9549 Hey, I am 23 years old from Pakistan, and I totally understand what you are going through. I myself dealing with depression and financial sitautions, and society is not acceptable at all. I hope that you slowly make your way out of these. Take care.
@SamiUlHaq
thanks , feel pleasure to see my countrymate
dear how can i get rid from my financial condition and this depression , now my condition is worst i spend my 24 hrs in loneliness
@jawad9549 Bro what i found helpful is to make little changes in the daily routine. Society tells you other way that get out of room and make money and do this. But this doesn't happen overnight. I am trying to make changes slowly, also I know that my family and society will never understand so now i don't expect much from them. I try to study online. I am learning web development for 14 months now. I was not consistent too because of depression and anxiety. I think the way out of this is to first accept that it is going to take some time. You can start with adding enjoyable activities, like i added chess and movies. Slowly you will start seeing the way out when you try out things.
Hey jawad I'm also pakistani and I know my society people are too judgemental, I have a good advice here
Having such feelings (without acting on them) in not a sin
Acting on such desires( through relationships, physical or romantic) is a sin, because Allah clearly prohibited same gender-intimacy.
Here I'm not being judgemental or anything or mocking your faith everyone has desire they are not allowed to act upon it,some for the opposite gender some for wealth or fame. You should deal with it managing your feelings with patience and taqwa.
It can be like a test ,this too can be spiritual trial. Avoid social media, friendship or music that romanticize or normalize same gender attraction, It's feeds the feeling. Strengthen your connection with Allah through quran ,dua and salah. Ask him for purification of your heart. Remember it can be your test how you are gonna deal with it. Find a trustworthy scholar or a counsellor who understands Islam and psychology, not someone who mocks faith.
