I'm a working and also a senior highschool student. I got a job I don't enjoy, at first I told myself atleast I get money but the stress, the exhaustion I get is already getting overwhelming. I have unhealthy habits, eating problems, sleeping problems I gained from going through something similar to depression last year.(can't call it depression because I'm not diagnosed) I want to focus on self care but this job is somehow making things worse. I don't have a reason for taking the job, my family bugged me to get it and I somehow regret it. I feel tired, I'm not happy doing it at the end of the day whether I have money or not. Not to mention wcopinh with studies and my bad habits it's stressful. I told my my mom why they want me to take the job....they said none. Now I am more lost why I take it. I said I'm tired and...this is when my mom said I am not. Because if im really tired I would be tiring myself everyday and not sleep the whole morning (bad sleeping cycle). I said i may not be physical tired (not sure if I am) but maybe mentally..but she didn't take it. She then says her situation is nothing compared to mine. Saying that I should be happy I have a job. She told me if I don't like the job I should quit then but she says it in not a reassuring way bit I guess...mocking. They forced me to take the job, for no reason...when I did it mostly to get their approval... What hit me the most are my mom's words. Am I really tired? Am i making excuses? Am i just pathetic and I have to man up?

@Steph377 hi there! i understand how working and being a student at the same time could be stressful! I'm sorry that you don't like your job ❤️ it makes sense that all that would overwhelm you! having unhealthy habits can be a really hard thing, especially if we can't break them! I'm so sorry to hear you had an experience similar to depression! i know how impossible it can be to go through something like that! it would make sense that it would form habits and still loom over you now! it's wonderful you'd like to focus on self care! i get how your job would be making this worse for you! it sounds frustrating how your family wanted you to get it! sometimes even though things give us stuff like money, it can leave us feeling absolutely horrible! i really understand how having your school to worry about adds another book to a broken shelf! this sounds like such a hard situation for you, especially if you don't get the support you deserve from your family! it sounds to me like not having the support from your mom just makes things a lot harder for you! you didn't want to take the job, and they wanted you to so you did, but now it's negatively affecting you and they won't support you! I don't think you are pathetic at all! we all go through hard times in our life, and i know you can make it through this with whatever you decide to do! you aren't alone in this! you got this!
