Scared of Losing One Close to Me

Hi, I just wanted a place to let this all out. Any support is appreciated. 😊

I'm so scared of losing those close to me. At first it was my family members, now it is a person I'm seeing. Every time we take a break I feel so awful without them. They're perfect and I don't want to lose them. They keep thinking they're unlovable and that they're harming me by constantly reaching out among other things. We decided to take a break for one day and they said they're so inclined to message me they thought it'd be good if I took them off my friend's list for the time being.

We ended up doing it and its been devastating to me to see them gone. I know its just a day, but I can't help but worry I'll never see them again and that I'll be left all alone. Its only been a few hours but I'm already feeling awful, trying not to cry. I just don't know what to do anymore. Its not healthy I know to need to be around someone everyday, but I've never met anyone who has been so nice and kind. When we're together things are great, but keep wanting to push me away because they feel like they're causing me a problem.

I'm just so sad and wanting them to come back. Its just one day but I can't help but be sad. I don't want to be like this anymore where I get sad at the slightest distance. I've been hurt before in relationships so its so hard for me to trust others. I just don't know what to do. Lack of communication is so painful for me, when I saw our communication channel cut off it hurt me so much.

@Starline Hello, thank you for reaching out and sharing your feelings. It's completely natural to seek support and understanding during challenging times, and you've taken a positive step by expressing your thoughts here.

It sounds like you're going through a tough situation, and the fear of losing someone you care about can be incredibly distressing. It's clear that you deeply value this person and the connection you share. It's also understandable that the idea of a break, even if it's just for a day, can trigger feelings of sadness and worry.

Trust and communication are crucial in any relationship, and it's evident that you care deeply about this person's well-being. Sometimes, people may need space or time to work through their own thoughts and emotions. While it can be challenging, it's important to respect their boundaries and allow them the space they need, even though it's painful.

Remember that it's okay to have your own feelings and needs as well. It's essential to prioritize your own well-being and mental health. If you ever find that these feelings of sadness and fear persist, reaching out to a mental health professional or counselor can be a valuable step in navigating your emotions and building resilience in relationships.

Take things one step at a time, and try to focus on self-care during this period of separation. It's okay to feel sad, but it's also important to find ways to support yourself during this time.

Feel free to continue sharing here if you need to talk or vent further. We're here to listen and provide support whenever you need it 💛

@Starline I seriously get it. I am so hurt by a person with whom I am deeply in love. Over almost ten years she's called time outs and pauses and breakups. Each one makes me weaker and waaker. This last one collapsed me. She does it right after we see each other, make love, or otherwise enjoy heaven. I am a shadow of a man today, trying not to drink.
