What Motivates You?
What motivates you? Is it the promise of a reward, the threatening that you'll be punished if you don't do so-and-so, or the fact that you genuinely enjoy what you're doing? Is it something specific, like puppy gifs, or anything in general, like motivational penguins? Do you get motivated suddenly, or does it take time?

I was speaking to @ConnorSmith about this and came to a conclusion..
In the short-term.. we strive to achieve success and love. Whereas in the long term... we want to make a change to the world! That in itself is an amazing achievement.
Thank you for asking this very deep but important question!
*hugs*
It takes forever to get me motivated. Ridiculous, really...
@mimameid
Motivation can be hard to come across, and it's not always easy :) What do you find helps, even though it's hard? Does anything help at all?
@windflowers
I've been trying the app Habatica but failing majorly at it. It seems like my motivation comes to spurts without me thinking all too much about it. Like I will just randomly feel motivation and then go do something. Sometimes I can sit down, make a list, and follow it through, but most of the time I can't, and it just becomes a list of a whole bunch of unfinished business.
Do you believe that lack of motivation and laziness are the same and/or similar?
The toughest motivation I give myself is that if ever still procrastinate I would end up nothing to accomplish and be proud off. I would be a complete disappointment to everyone who supports me. I would be utterly useless in the world and would be not worth the while.
Motivates me everytime because I literally would scare myself. Tough but it works 😂😂😂
@JustLolli
I'm glad it works, though! Thank you for sharing :)
@windflowers
It does but I would never recommend it 😂 it gets very destructive sometimes 😄
Motivation is something that can be found in most random of places, for me at least. I feel like most of my motivation comes from seeing other people succeed, or other people being optimistic, and hopeful. I'm motivated because I see that if other people are able to defeat the odds, then so can I. And I keep that motivation going by maintaining goals that I want to accomplish.
Motivation can come in many forms. Being optimistic and having an open mind helps a lot to pick ourselves up when we are feeling low. I can share a little about the feeling cycle... I believe everyone has 4 different types of feeling phrases they go through : high Feeling good , reduced feeling good, low feeling good and improved feeling good. We go through the feeling cycle in the order given( let's say we 1 week for each phase) . So, there are days we are so motivated and optimistic and there are days we are so down and out.If you pay attention and are aware of the changes in your feelings and responses then you can actually deal with it a little easier. I personally learn to minimize my interactions and my reaction to people and situations around me when I am on the lower side. I do not response immediately. I also try not to give too much importance to the negative thoughts or responses that crops up in my mind. I wait till I come to the higher feeling good phase, before I make important decisions. I hope this little insight of mine , will be helpful to you all.
