when I was younger I really cared what people thought of me and I was always looking for validation, and now I see that as long as I love myself, I will be okay.

I thought something was inherently wrong with me when I was younger. I was bullied often, and few people understood me (not necessarily entirely negative).
To this day, I don't know what makes me 'click' differently than others that seems to prevent me from fully connecting with them no matter how much I open up to them.
Whatever it is, I've accepted it, and strive to love all those around me nonetheless.
