Feeling lost and no one will help me
Didn't know where to post so thought I'd post in here... I'm feeling so lost right now. Finally after years of waiting I got a ADHD diagnosis late last year after spending my savings on going private because the NHS wasn't helping me. I finally got medication. Today my psychiatrist has told me to stop taking the medication because he thinks I might have bipolar too... But he's not gonna diagnose me because it's online based (psychiatry UK) and that I have to go to the community mental health team. The CMHT discharged me twice in one week and is refusing to see me and were really rude to me saying it's my fault that I'm not helping myself and that I need to go to AA, which is blatantly not gonna help me apart from my dependency on alcohol... I've been trying to get help for over 10 years now and find out what is wrong with me and I keep getting one step forward then like 50million steps back... I can't go on feeling like this, I can't function on a day to day basis and I don't know what to do... Why do NHS mental health services have to suck so much... Ughhhh I'm so frustrated Sorry needed to rant aha
Oh yea and they can't make their mind up on what it is, one minute I'm just depressed, then they tell me it's BPD and now it's bipolar...
Theres a tedx talk called "adhd sucks, but not really" watch it and you'll see things differently. Diagnosing adhd as a problem is so ludicrous.
I'm really sorry this is happening to you, it sounds really painful. Perhaps you can try Minds UK local support groups ?
