I am honestly still processing this whole depression thing. I have supportive college professors that are on my side and helping me along with way. I have not told my folks and don't plan to, for they have enough to worry about in their lives. But I have been trying resources outside of school for possible counseling and treatment on my own with no luck. I am uninsured and have no money for pay the hundreds of dollars up front. My family doesn't have the money either. Are there any programs that can help me? I'm lost and may not be able to get the help I need due to this nation's desire to make money off of health care in general. Thoughts?

Hi Autumn,

What country are you in? If you are in the united states there are some good programs that can help you get the assistance you need, I would be happy to provide more information for you.

I am currently living in Copenhagen but I am still seeing my therapist from my old university in Boston via skype! This is of course not covered by my insurance, but she understands that I am a student, and more importantly that I need help, so I have a deal with her that I can pay as much as comfortable for me. Try going through your university and seeing if they can refer you to somebody and explaining your situation! Good luck, and I think it is very admirable of you to take these steps in getting help!
