Hi! ^_^

I was wondering if anyone else 'suffers' with Maladaptive daydreaming disorder.

Iused tosuffer, now I really just use it as a tool to keep me from going insanelybored in this place we call real life.wink

I wanted to know, does anyone emotional react externally to things happening in theirdaydreams too? I've cried, yelled, and laughed before. XD

Also, has anyone ever got *caught* doing it? If so, how did the other person react ?

Andddd lastly, for those who think I'm bonkers, here's a popular internet star to describe how he goes through it. :p

I've always done thisand I feel like to a certain extant, most everybodyhas done it too, it just varies in degrees. For me thoughit hasgotten a lotworse. The pass few weeks my mind will drift into a daydream without me realizing it, and by the time I snap out of it (if no one else has done so yet) a few hours hadpassed by. And sometimes it gets really intense. Likeit can make mereally angry sometimes, which usually leads to me getting really sad and crying thus causing me to have a whole breakdown which often leads me to having suicidal feeling. Or it can even make me have this really big high of energy and happiness (which is extremely rare for me) but as soon as it's over I drop really hard. Those are just some of the examples of how it's made me feel more recently.Like I said early, I've always done this, butit has never been this bad. Now Ioften pace back and forth, gesture a lot, I'm starting to talk aloud more instead of keeping it in my head. If someone were to hear me, it'd probably sound like a one sided conversation, cause I get so into it that I almost feel like I'm living it. Even though what my eyes are showing me is my home, my mind is making me feel like I'm in a completely different setting. It's almost like there is a disconnect between what is reality and what my mind really wants. I'm losing control over it, and it's kinda scary cause I feel I'm losing my grip on reality cause of it..

That's true , I think everyone has gone through that to some extend . I personally do it all the time, specially in "crises" moment . In my case , reality is so tough that daydreaming is the best shot of hope i can get . If u need someone to talk send me a message :)

Wow! So this explains a lot for me. I can day dream for HOURS if I have nothing to do. I just put on some tvor listen to some music and go somewhere totally different.

I try not to do it in public too much. I can start thinking while walking and lose track of where I am when I snap out of it. Its ok if I get caught doing itbecause my usual reaction to my day dreams is to smile. So I just look like a loon smiling to myself. >.<

Hello, I'm a 17 year old who believes that I suffer from maladpative daydreaming. Since I have been in middle school I have spent hours daydreaming and during the summer I have spent days. I usually pace back and forth while daydreaming sometimes I run. This has honestly impacted my for the worst. I really need support I going to be a senior this school year and I'm off too college and I don't want this to impact the road of my life. I was hoping I could join this forum for the support it feels really good to know that I'm not alone

I thought running was uncommon for me! Its nice to know pacing and running isn't all that weird for someone with the same disorder! :)

For me, I daydream so much that it shuts out the outside world. I might not be able to get out of bed sometimes because I daydream. Usually it's for a while that I daydream, but sometimes, it's just for a few minutes at a time. I think I might have it but I'm not sure

I also have maladaptive daydreaming disorder and sometimes the day dreams are really sad and they aren't nice, this can make me quite depressed and sad and can bring my mood down for days on end. It sometimes gets so bad that i start crying all the time for no reason. I was wondering if anyone else has the same thing and can help me. I sometimes go for weeks on end with nothing but bad day dreams and it is getting too much if anyone has any advice that would be great.

Awesome, there's a post about this :3 I used to suffer too, actually I still do. But I've been handling it better. I have my good days and my bad days. I don't want to stop it completely, but I don't want to let it take over my life either. You understand that, right?
And the 10th doctor... I used to daydream about him XD But then again I DD about a lot of people.

Btw, people have caught me smiling, a lot. It's annoying when they ask me why I do that. I only got caught crying once by my sister. She didn't make a big deal out of it. I fully submerge myself in my daydreams and use expressions when I feel like no one's looking.

Hey, I also do this weird thing where after I've seen a friend, I'll sometimes daydream they are sitting right next to me later that day, watching television, or eating dinner with me after they've left! XD And I'll end up talking out loud in my daydream as if they're right there. Anyone else done that before? haha

I have daydreamed about hanging out with my friends, it's funny how I've spent more time with them in my mind than irl. Though I haven't talked out loud, even when I do I only whisper.

I do this a lot, and I would definitely call it suffering. I have lost days and relationships to daydreaming so much. Just recently I had three days in a row where all I did was lie down and daydream. I could barely sleep, I rarely ate or even moved at all. It's really annoying because I only daydream bad scenarios, if they ever start out good they'll turn out bad. And I mean really, really bad.

I'm very sorry to hear this. :( From what you've told us, it sounds like maybe it could do with a thought pattern you have.

Where Maladaptive daydream can sometimes be fun and amusing, it can also be a mini hell hole for people just like you.

Hang in there!

I certainly do not want to go against what all of you are saying and I do not in the least. However, I've spent years studying the word of God and also studying His gifts. Satan always has a counterfeit that mimics what God has but it's usually very similar but will eventually ended up very very unhealthy bc ...hello, it's satan. I believe that inside each of you is a gifting of going into trances and deep deep encounters with the Lord. Also visions like where you see things like on a movie screen being played out as in prophetically over someone's life. Someone you know, someone you will meet soon, about your land, city, state nation, heck anything. Just a little info coming from my years of study and even encounters myself. If any of you are against Christianity then you can just ignore this post but for those of you who believe in Jesus period...regardless of your denomination or beliefs on giftings I urge you to pray that the Lord would remove the enemies hold on what God has gifted you with and that anything or any open doors to the enemy be shut and that God would handle the enemy and release the gifting from God fully 100% NOW!!! You guys....you have NO IDEA how powerful you are in the Kingdom of God...wow. I've prayed for so so many years for these things!!! If you have any more questions just shoot me a message!!!
