I have a severe anxiety mental illness that disables me from doing basic things like driving or leaving my house or going into a store or talking on the phone or in person. I have tried to work but can't hold a job. I really need help my mom has cancer and is working and taking care of me and paying for my clothes, bills, food, and a roof over my head and other things. I'm am struggling because I have no money and can not work. What should I do? I have Medicaid. I tried emailing someone from the gov they told me I have to go to the local office in person , there is no way I can get there.. what should I do? Can they help me over the phone without me going there? Would I be able to get help paying for stuff fast? Would I be able to get SSI or disability?

@Surrealism Hi Surrealism, what country are you in? I know in the Uk you can speak to people over the phone to get information or advice regarding benefits etc and they also come out to those with disabilities who may find getting into a centre difficult. There are also some voluntary agencies who can advise and support people surrounding money/welfare etc. I have a feeling you may be from the US as you mentioned medicare and I assume that to be some form of medical insurance?

I used to have such severe anxiety I didn't dare to go to the grocery store, but sometimes you just gotta face it, bite the sour apple and do it.

With time anxiety will calm down the more you expose yourself to what triggers the anxiety, you just gotta get out and do it.

I know it's harsh but that is the truth and there isn't any shortcut unfortunatly.
