One of the most powerful assignments I had in school studying to becomee a Therapist was .... To go to therapy myself!! What kind of Therapist would I be if I thought that was too much to ask? Here's what I learned and carry with me:

Do you remember those "dot to dot" puzzles you used to do when you were a child? Where you started at 1 then had to find 2 and connected the line until you could tell what the picture was suposed to be. The change process doesn't have to be complicated. When you are so caught up in your problem you may not be able to see the bigger picture. Therapists understand your pain. In therapy they help you connect the dots, so that you can learn to manage your difficulties and transform your life.

(Disclaimer: I have not done this dot to dot and have no idea what it is a picture of! lol)

hi @CrystaDLCSW
It's a lot more easier to do those than deal with my problems:

When I was a child I was attacked by a dog. What I remember most clearly, strange to say, were the colours—the glaring white of my shin bone, the shocking yellow of the antiseptic.

I remember those dot-to-dot puzzles, too. The numbered ones were the easy ones. Later in the book there were no numbers. Later in life there were no dots.
